Ornamental Horticulture
Bob Neier has served as a County Extension Agent with the K-State Research & Extension since 1979. (1979-1989 in Reno County, 1989-present in Sedgwick County) B.S. - Horticulture, Kansas State University; M.S. - Adult Education, Kansas State University. He works with commercial and home horticulture and emphasis in low maintenance trees, shrubs, flowers and ornamental grasses. Supports a vibrant group of over 200 volunteer Extension Master Gardeners in horticulture outreach through a speakers bureau, phone and walk-in diagnostics, the Sedgwick County Extension Arboretum and other youth and adult programming.
A native of Mullinville in southwest Kansas, Bob developed an interest in horticulture through 4-H plant science programs. Bob was involved in the restoration of Mullinville's historic Fromme-Birney round barn in 1995.
